Food and Clothing Distribution – Last Saturday of every month

We believe God has called us to this neighborhood. We desire to not only preach a gospel of freedom and grace, but to also live it out. Jesus met the physical needs of people as part of the truth that He proclaimed: There is life found in Jesus alone. One of the practical ways we do that is through our monthly Food and Clothing distribution. On the last Saturday of each month, we distribute food from the Central California Food Bank and clothes donated by our church community. It is completely volunteer driven. People from the community and the church come to serve, receive food and clothing, and be part of a faith community that demonstrates love and care without questions.

Volunteers show up to set up and pack food at 8:00am. The doors are open for the food and clothing distribution from 9:00am to 10:00am. People are welcomed inside in the order they come. They receive food and clothing if desired, and are helped out to their car with their belongings. If you are interested in being a part of the Food and Clothing Distribution, contact Titus at tmorikawa@mountainview.org.  If you are interested in joining our Food and Clothing volunteer team, please fill out this FORM.

Being able to teach about who Jesus Christ is in schools is a miracle in this day and age. We have that opportunity through the Good News Club. This is a club that functions a lot like an after school club. Children at elementary schools get parental permission to be a part of a club that meets once a week for the duration of the school year. Volunteers from the community come to teach about the love of Jesus Christ and how one can have a personal relationship with Him.

As a church, we are involved in two nearby schools: Miramonte Elementary and Oraze Elementary. On Wednesdays, volunteers meet at 1:30pm to discuss what the agenda is for the day, and begin teaching from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. A typical Wednesday afternoon with the students would include a game, a short lesson from the Bible, another interactive game explaining the lesson learned, and a snack. Our clubs usually have between 15-25 students from 1st-6th grades. It is wild, crazy, and fun.

**Good News Club has currently been paused.

Block Parties are fun ways to serve our surrounding communities. Our mission behind throwing block parties throughout the summer is to reach lost people by making the name of Jesus known. Our hope is that after each block party, people leave feeling blessed and wanting to know more about Mountain View Church. We want everyone to experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ!

Each Block Party lasts for about two hours on various nights throughout the summer. We provide free hot dogs, cotton candy, and snow cones to everyone, as well as lawn games and raffles. It is a great opportunity for us to live out missions in our local communities. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact office@mountainview.org.

Wondering when and where block parties are happening this summer? Check out our calendar of upcoming events to see all the block party dates for all of our campuses.
